Wyde introduces the Wyde Framework, its new product designed to jump-start application development by providing powerful and easily configurable business components for today’s applications. Fully integrated with wSpecs and eWAM, the Wyde Framework permits
The Business Analyst and Developer instantly build the graphical framework for their application. The user first selects from a rich choice of architectures, be it a Windows application similar to Outlook or an HTML-based application using the XML/XSL technology. Then the user simply selects which business entities that the application manipulates, and optionally he specifies certain presentation parameters for each. And presto – instant application!
The secret to building powerful and robust applications quickly is component reuse. Using the Wyde Framework, development projects can attain upwards of 75% reuse rate. That means that Business Analysts and Development Teams only need develop approximately a quarter of the application, thus saving enormously in time and budget. Additionally, the 75% of the application that is reused has been thoroughly tested, greatly increasing application stability.
The underlying technology of reusable components is object-oriented programming. With this technique, Technical Teams inherit from existing functionality, and they add features specific to the application to develop. Thus, the majority of the application already exists, while still permitting a customized result.
The Wyde Framework contain the basic types needed for today’s business applications. Each type comes with its rich panoply of graphical representations and sophisticated rules and comportments. When other software houses talk of business components, they often are only speaking about such basic types.
Examples:
The Wyde Framework goes much further than standard software packages in providing a methodology for building enterprise-level applications, WAGRAM. Using WAGRAM, Business Analysts divide their custom components into basic business patterns. Each pattern comes automatically with standard business processes, such as Create, Modify, Consult, Delete, Suspend, Validate, and Versioning. Additionally, business patterns can be stored in a data base and can be presented with a variety of graphical presentations.
Examples:
Because most of the business processes are already present, Business Analysts only need to specify the complex business processes. Thus, much time is saved, and the Business Analysts concentrate on those aspects of the application where their firm's value added is highest.
The Wyde Framework also comes with specific business components to speed application development. Note that Wyde goes much farther than standard component libraries in specifying real business entities and not just basic types that must be assembled to create business applications.
Examples:
Unlike most libraries, the Wyde Framework isn't an inextricable group of black boxes. The Wyde Framework components are completely open, and the components can be fully decoupled.
To answer the need of many business applications, the Wyde Framework comes complete with a Product Factory. A product is a very generic entity covering anything that is sold, such as an insurance contract or a cellular phone subscription. The Product Factory allows Business Analysts to choose from a rich combination of contracts and services that constitute a product. For example, the Product Factory handles products with the following characteristics.
The Wyde Framework also comes with certain modules to help build applications quickly.
